Engagement Pictures at Masterson Station! Interview with Shannon.

In my 5+ years as a photographer, I’ve been extremely lucky to get to work with all kinds of amazing human beings. As you’d expect, every couple is different from the next. Some are all about the PDA, some are all about keeping it sweet and romantic, and some people… well, some people are just downright hysterical!

Meet Adam and Shannon, two of the goofiest people I’ve worked with in a while. The session took place at Masterson Station Park, which was a great backdrop for our time together. The fun they had during the shoot helped us to get some great pictures! The entire time these two were cracking jokes and picking on each other, and I was there to catch it all on camera.

I love asking how people meet. “Adam became friends with my father through being a sales representative for a local parts store and my father had an interest for working on older cars in his free time. Once Adam and my father became friends, we met through my dad at his shop. We had known each other for years before we decided to give dating a shot.”

I asked about the proposal next. “We always had a joke that Adam would get me a “ring pop” from the gas station. If there’s one thing to know, Adam loves to wood work. He has made everything from a kitchen table to a turkey mount. We had been talking about him making us some end tables for the living room and a blanket chest. Well he was in no hurry to get the end tables done until one week he told me they would be done by that Friday. I just happened to be off work and was running some errands for the day and since he knows I’m always late, he told me we were going to take his parents to a lumbar yard and that he needed me home before three. When I came home he had the tables set up in the living room and he was telling me it took so long because he needed to fix the drawers in it and to check out the drawers now. When I opened the drawer there was a ring box with a candy ring pop! When I turned around to see him, I had the ring pop in my mouth and he was down on one knee, holding my actual ring and asked me if I’d like that one better.”

I asked what kind of look they were going for and Shannon said, “I mostly wanted something that was just us. Normally if we are dressed for church or going out to dinner, Adam wears jeans, boots and a button down while I wear a dress. So when choosing clothes for the pictures, I wanted something that looked like us but was light and airy.”

When I asked Shannon about her favorite part of the engagement session, she replied, “I’m not sure if it’s the actual pictures we got or just the amount of laughs we got throughout the session. We went to dinner after and we laughed the whole time talking about it. Whether it was something he said, Sara telling me not to stick my chin up so far to where I looked awkward, my two left feet or the amount of bugs flying around at the end. Ultimately, we had a blast!”

These two are officially tying the knot on June 4th, so wish them lots of luck! But really, with a relationship as lighthearted and fun as this one, I don’t think they’ll need any luck at all! Cozyshoppe will be there to capture their wedding day, so we will definitely post pictures.
